Leuven University College encourages students to take responsibility. The university college pursues a stimulating policy in the area of student participation and involvement. We attach great importance to the opinions of students in shaping their education and organisation. This means that you are a full partner in the consultative bodies of the students, the courses and the university college.
As one of the few university colleges in Flanders, Leuven University College also has a real student coach! He or she ensures that the relationship between the students and the university college's board of directors is as smooth as possible.
The students' organisation at Leuven University College has a solid structure, with two components: We have student councils and student organisations.
This student council is the official mouthpiece of students at university college level. The members represent the views of the Leuven University College students in various councils within and outside Leuven University College. They are primarily geared towards education and social matters. OSR aims to help shape the ideas of the educational institution in a critical way, in a culture of co-management.

The departmental student councils are concerned with the day-to-day activities of their department. They have seats on the course committees and are represented in various councils, such as a library or ICT council.
The council may also organise activities in collaboration with a student organisation – cultural or sporting activities, for example. The Department of Teacher Education has a separate system: In both Heverlee and Diest, there is one student committee set up for each course.

Leuven University College's umbrella student organisation was set up a few years ago to bring the student organisations and therefore the students of our institution closer together. OKeR shares the responsibility for organising typical student activities. So keep checking your student organisation's calendar!
