Recreation
The recreation course is aimed at the rapidly growing sector of sport-based leisure activities. Do you want to work as a sports instructor or trainer/coach? Or do you want to organise sporting events? Then this subject is the right choice. Graduates act as a bridge between sport at school and the sporting facilities of the municipality, province, club or federation. The highly diverse private sector of outdoor organisations, from fitness & wellness firms to event agencies, also recruits frequently from among our recreation graduates.
Leuven University College has purposefully selected 4 paths for you to choose from: project work, outdoor & safety, fitness/dance & health, training & coaching. In the first academic year, you are familiarised with the activities and working styles etc. from the four option paths. This allows you to form an idea of what we expect of you. In the second year, you choose two of the four option paths. Finally, in the third year you study one option in depth.
One year equals semester 1 plus semester 2 for a total of 60 ECTS credits. The Educational and Examination Regulations provide you with more information on the split between semesters.
