You're dynamic and enjoy doing sport and exercise. You're also communicative, you like taking the lead and are good at organising and co-operating. If this sounds like you, then you're a physical education teacher of the future!
On the physical education course, you learn how to motivate and stimulate young people and children to exercise. You teach them new exercises, you support and coach them. We also prepare you to work with various target groups: pre-primary children, primary school children, students from the first and second cycles of secondary education and the third cycle of vocational secondary education. So there is certainly lots of variation in terms of work placements and target groups. Theoretical background is provided in subjects such as anatomy, physiology and biomechanics. This gives you the necessary basic information and allows you to develop a motor skills perspective. In the practical P.E. lessons, you explore your own proficiency and the method of learning (methodology).
You can work in pre-primary, primary and secondary education as a physical education teacher. Or you can even work in higher education. That's what makes physical education a unique subject.
One year equals semester 1 plus semester 2 for a total of 60 ECTS credits. The Educational and Examination Regulations provide you with more information on the split between semesters.
