Want to become a Latin teacher? Then your ideal starting level is 6 years of Latin in secondary education, in combination with any other subject. Naturally, you have an interest in language and history, as well as life and literature in Antiquity. This will make the many non-language aspects covered in the lessons more appealing and enriching.
Of course, the subject content is approached from a teaching perspective. We continually ask ourselves the question: How do you effectively convey a specific element to students at the right moment? We introduce you more systematically to the subject as a subject via the didactical workshops.
The key phrases that describe the Latin course are: going beyond the subject itself (to modern languages, history and general culture), visual, full of variety, stimulating and intensive. But the principle that always applies is: "Docendo discimus; docendo delectamur!"
And what about afterwards? The content and skills you learn will allow you to work in secondary education. However, you can also continue studying – via bridge programmes – with the associated master's course.
One year equals semester 1 plus semester 2 for a total of 60 ECTS credits. The Educational and Examination Regulations provide you with more information on the split between semesters.
