Geography

Geography teacher

The key questions in geography are: Where is it? What is it? Why is it there? What is its impact on man and nature? How will it develop in the future?

As a future geography teacher, you have a lively interest in your own surroundings and current world events. You follow the news and you can place it in a broad context.

In all semesters, you study topics relating to physical and human geography. The studies are based on concrete examples. Geography is a bridge subject between the different sciences. The subject allows us to form a reference framework, which allows you to organise and understand information from the media and other sources.

An important element of the course consists of acquiring techniques. These enable you to teach geographical subjects to young people in a fun, absorbing and informative way. An experience-oriented geography component is studied over the three years. This incorporates the learning pathways 'use of ICT in the subject / linking with current events and linking with the environment in which young people live'.

One year equals semester 1 plus semester 2 for a total of 60 ECTS credits. The Educational and Examination Regulations provide you with more information on the split between semesters.
