English

English teacher

As an English teacher, we can promise you a fascinating job. After all, your students are usually enthusiastic about the subject. And they often have a lot of prior knowledge: They watch TV, go to the cinema, listen to songs with English lyrics, play computer games and perhaps use quite a few English words in their everyday speech. They want to communicate in this language that seems so familiar. So taking advantage of the environment they live in is a 'piece of cake'.

As an English teacher, you naturally acquire a thorough knowledge of the language. In the first two years, you brush up on and deepen the language skills you gained in secondary education. In the cultural component, you expand your knowledge of countries and continents where English plays an important role. You also enjoy contemporary and classic literature: at your students' level and at your own level. In the didactical workshop, you learn the 'tricks of the trade'. This involves putting together all types of lessons – from grammar to videos – in a structured, absorbing and creative way.

One year equals semester 1 plus semester 2 for a total of 60 ECTS credits. The Educational and Examination Regulations provide you with more information on the split between semesters.
