People who want to teach biology have, first of all, a lively interest in nature. You are curious about the structure and workings of plants and animals. You wonder how we are able to evolve into a healthy society in an inhabitable environment.
As a biology teacher, you face quite a challenge. There may soon be a shortage of scientists in our rapidly evolving world. You can make the difference – with your stimulating and active lessons.
In this course, you do as much of your own work as possible during practical lessons and fieldwork. You practise your research skills continuously. After all, you will certainly need these as a biology teacher. But you can also find a job outside education. As a researcher with a teaching background, your skills will be highly appreciated in the educational services of zoos, museums and educational nature centres. You can also work as a medical representative.
One year equals semester 1 plus semester 2 for a total of 60 ECTS credits. The Educational and Examination Regulations provide you with more information on the split between semesters.
