Special statute
At Leuven University College, you can combine your studies with a special statute: artist, recognised top level athlete, working student or student with a disability.
If you are eligible for a special statute, we recommend that you take the following steps:
- Inform the department as soon as possible. If you're considering taking a course at Leuven University College, make an appointment for an introductory meeting with the student office of the relevant course.
- Have you enrolled? Make an appointment as soon as possible with your department's student office, certainly before the end of October. You will then be given all the relevant information. The student office will then discuss with you the procedure and the facilities that are available to assist you during your studies.
- For disabilities: A consultation with the GON (integrated education) or PAB (personal assistants to persons with a handicap) counsellor, or Pedagogische Hulp (educational assistance services), may be arranged. The aim of this is to determine what external support can be provided.
Certificates
- Bring an overview of all existing documents with you to the first meeting: about the disability itself, as well as the desired and required facilities and support.
- At the start of each academic year, you must re-register with the student office, where you apply for the official internal document (certificate), with confirmation of your visual impairment.
