The transition from secondary education to a university college is often quite a big step. Not all students can cope with the greater independence, the greater quantities of learning material and the semester exams.
This is why Leuven University College goes to great lengths to provide good study coaching and study itinerary coaching. Both are highly valuable and supplement each other.
Study coaching is the support you receive from us for everything related to studying. How do you manage to assimilate all the subject matter you need to know? How do you manage to acquire all the skills you need to have? Study support helps you with your study approach in concrete ways: study method, tools for studying, concentration techniques etc. All these are options that may help you.
Personal development planning is all about your own choices. After all, at Leuven University College, you're in charge of your own study programme. We propose a model, but you can change it. Making choices entails a great deal of responsibility, and this is why we want to give you guidance. Every student has a personal development planner who is available at a number of pivotal moments, such as at the start of the academic year or when you have obtained your points. But he or she is also your first point of contact at other times.
At Leuven University College, it is also possible to study with a special statute. We give students with a disability the best possible opportunity to participate fully in all aspects of learning and living as a student. But recognised top level athletes and artists are often entitled to a special statute, too. We also develop tailor-made courses for these students.
