Free bicycle

Student Services gives you a free Velo bicycle (you pay the deposit yourself).

Velo is a social and ecological bicycle project that allows students and residents of Leuven to rent a bike. Velo also has a bicycle repair workshop, where students can repair their bike, or have it repaired. Drop in to Velo and take away your free bicycle.

Free bus pass

Students of Leuven University College are given a free bus pass. You can use this to ride anywhere in the Leuven zone.
Students on the Diest campus receive a public transport allowance. You can obtain more info from the student secretariat.

The train

On the NMBS (Belgian Railways) website, you can find all the information you'll need about cheap student season tickets.

• The campus card is for students in rented accommodation. A cost-effective way of getting home and back several times a week.
• The school train card is the cheapest way of paying for your daily journeys to and from the department.

The staff in the railway station can further advise you on the cheapest fare to and from any destination. Further reductions are available for those minus 26. 

Student restaurants

On campus

In your department, delicious rolls and snacks are available, and in the Department of Social Work you can even get a hot meal.
 

In town

The Alma student restaurants are a traditional part of Leuven's student life. You can go to the Alma restaurants in various locations from morning to evening (including Saturdays). For opening hours, locations and menus: Go to www.alma.be.
