6 Provisions regarding modifications and transfers

Provisions regarding transfers

6.1 Choice of contract

A student who enrolled before the 2005-2006 academic year is expected to have a diploma contract, unless he/she explicitly chose an examination contract.
This student is expected to have acquired ECTS Credits with regard to course units for which he took examinations and received a ‘pass’ mark before the academic year 2005-2006, however, taking into account the following rules:

  • The right of exemptions for marks of 10 and higher out of 20 comes into effect from the 2004-2005 academic year onwards. However, only examination marks obtained from the 2004-2005 academic year onwards are considered. Examination marks obtained in the 2003-2004 academic year or earlier are not taken into consideration.
  • With regard to examination marks obtained in the 2003-2004 academic year (or earlier) the previous regulations apply. Leuven University College is allowed to make an autonomous decision regarding examination marks of 10 out of 20 and higher and lower than 12 out of 20.

The credit certificates are recorded in the Leuven University College information system.

6.2 Modification of course units

If the number of ECTS Credits of a course unit are changed during the study programme, the student having passed the course unit maintains the original number of ECTS Credits.

6.3 Transitional measures regarding the study programme of bachelor of education, secondary education

A student having obtained at least 60 ECTS Credits up until the 2006-2007 academic year for the study programme of bachelor of education, secondary education, is entitles to continue the three-subject programme until the end of the 2011-2012 academic year.

The same applies to students who started the ‘bachelor of education, secondary education' study programme in the 2006-2007 academic year and obtained at least 45 ECTS Credits overall on condition that they comply with the following two requirements:

• The student obtained ECTS Credits for didactical workshops of the three teaching subjects (two for physical education and nutrition and care)
• The student did not obtain non-tolerable fail grades for the course units of the three teaching subjects (two for physical education and nutrition and care)

If the student complies with all the conditions, he is required to complete all course units pertaining to his teaching subjects - including teaching placement - of semesters 3 and 4 in the 2011-2012 academic year.
