The Bologna Declaration of 1999 dramatically altered the higher education landscape. Throughout Europe, university colleges and universities are developing a new BA/MA structure. This means you have the enormous advantage of being able to collect credits at different institutions in Belgium and abroad that lead to a diploma. Leuven University College is a member of the KU Leuven Association. This collaborative university system aims to offer clear added value for you as a student. For example, transferring to programmes within the association and abroad is now a smoother process.
Leuven University College works with the European Credit Transfer System or ECTS. This allows our students to be mobile throughout Europe while working towards their diploma. The European Commission has awarded us the ECTS label 2011-2014. Do you want to know how what we mean by credits, course units, work load,...? You will find this information under the heading 'Education Activities' in the Education and Examination Regulations.
Any of your questions regarding ECTS will be answered by our institutional ECTS coordinator.
Leuven University College offers you a programme tailored to your needs, with valuable tutoring and support. This makes us one of the most flexible university colleges in Flanders. Our education and examination regulations illustrate how we approach this task.
